On July 1, 2015 I decided to abandon this blog and begin posting regularly at my portfolio site Javacia.com.
But now I'm back.
The decision to move my blogging to Javacia.com was actually the first step in a process of rebranding, a rebranding that was going to signify my shift to focusing more on coaching.
While writing and blog coaching is still a great passion of mine and while I am still working to build that side of my business, I also need to work on something else: I need to practice what I teach.
I've been so busy helping women work on their writing and blogging goals that I haven't spent any time working on my own. I am a believer in leading by example. So if I'm going to coach women through building a blog, creating a writing career, and living a life worth writing about, I must make sure I'm doing those things as well.
And that's why I needed to return to WriteousBabe.com. This place is special. When I launched this blog four years ago it wasn't to build a business or even a personal brand. I just needed a virtual room of my own. At the time I had another blog with my husband and I needed a place in cyberspace that I would be all mine.
You could argue that the See Jane Write blog is all mine, but it's really not. It's a blog for my business, not for me.
And let me be transparent with you. Lately, See Jane Write, my membership organization and consulting service for women writers and bloggers, has become a serious source of stress in my life and not the source of joy it once was. I know this is normal. It's the growing pains all entrepreneurs experience. But I need a place in cyberspace where I can relax and have fun. It's time I go back to my writing roots and learn to enjoy blogging again.
So WriteousBabe.com is back.
Well, welcome back to the personal scene of blogging!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, LaCosta! It feels good to write for myself again.
DeleteWelcome back!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!
DeleteI would, like the others, like to welcome you back also. As a former truck driver, I wrote about my adventures on the road. Sometimes, it was the only thing that kept me sane. Towards the end of that career, I took about an 8 month break. But I'm back now. Transferred everything to www.walkinginmydestiny.com, and started mainly posting about what the Lord has been speaking to me, through devotions that I write. Currently exploring the option of different topics, as well as guest bloggers.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I didn't mean to say ALL that, but hey...that's the writer in me lol.
Welcome back, and God Bless!
Thanks for sharing, Jason. I worked for a trucking magazine once. I learned so much and gained such respect for truck drivers. I'll have to check out your blog. Thanks for stopping by WriteousBabe.com.
DeleteWelcome back! Always love to see your thoughts on life.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patty!
